What an avoided call-out is worth
In a compact urban network, a wasted visit costs an hour. Where branches are three hours apart it costs a day, plus fuel and an engineer who could have been somewhere else. The case for resolving faults remotely is strongest exactly where the roads are longest.
How much downtime never needs a call-out
Not every outage needs a technician. Application hangs, communication errors and a good share of dispenser alerts recover remotely within minutes, while hardware faults need a visit and a spare part. Telling the two apart at the first diagnosis is what stops a terminal sitting idle for half a day waiting for an intervention it never needed. It is one of the questions branches ask us most often: terminal out of service.
Working with connections that come and go
Remote management assumes a link to the machine, and upcountry that link is not always there. A platform that queues events during an outage and reconciles afterwards keeps the record intact; one that simply drops them leaves gaps nobody can explain later.
